Who We Are?
In the early 1990’s, the Meadowbrook congregation of the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, envisaged the need for the acquisition of a burial site outside of
the congested Kingston Metropolitan region.
This vision was later embraced by the entire United Church, and in 1994 the Meadowrest Memorial Gardens project was established.
Meadowrest is blessed with the beautiful Jamaican countryside, rich red soil, undulating hills, serene
atmosphere, white clouds and beautiful scenery.
The varied terrain, terracing, landscaped Gardens, uniformly laid out graves and wide pathways enhance the beauty of The Gardens.
The Gardens are in the Whittakers Mountain area, off the St. John’s Road in St. Catherine. The beautiful
55-acre rolling countryside grounds are rustic but easily accessible terrain.
